The music the lady is listening to as she walks through the city streets and catches a taxi is ‘Blue Monday’ by English synthpop-rock band New Order. Featuring the lyrics “How does it feel to treat me like you do?”, the single is taken from selected versions of the Manchester groups second album ‘Power, Corruption & Lies’ and was originally released in 1983, when it peaked at number 9 on the UK charts.
The original 1983 version of Blue Monday had a running time of over 7 minutes, with remixed versions later being released in 1988 and 1985. With vocals provided by the groups founding member Bernard Sumner, New Order’s best-known song is probably ‘World in Motion’, which was used as the England football teams official anthem for the 1990 World Cup in Italy and was a number 1 hit on the UK singles chart.
The ‘BT Plus “Song” Ad’ video was posted to the companies YouTube channel on 8 June, 2018.
