Video, music and artist details for Virgin Fibre’s new ‘The Best Entertainment Deserves Awesome Wi-Fi’ YouTube and TV ad.
Featuring a wide array of TV, gaming and movie characters, along with the occasional sports star, this new Virgin Fibre advert shows loads of people racing through an oversized fibre-optic broadband cable, on their way to a customers router. The suitably fast-paced soundtrack to this TV ad is American surf rock guitarist Dick Dale’s iconic version of the song ‘Misirlou’. Dick Dale’s recording of this traditional Eastern Mediterranean tune was of course made most famous when it featured in Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 black comedy crime film Pulp Fiction.
The above full length 90-second version of this ‘Virgin Fibre’ commercial was posted to the official Virgin Media YouTube channel on the 24th of March, 2017. Amongst others, the film stars Olympic sprinter and long-time face of Virgin Media, Usain Bolt, along with a number of Southampton FC players, who’s club is sponsored by Virgin Media.
As I don’t recognise any of the players in the split second they’re on screen, I’ll assume these are either actors dressed in the Saints football kit, or youth academy players.
