Song Title: The Sun Always Shines On TV.
Singer/Group: A-ha.
Download From: Amazon and iTunes.
The track featured in this latest advert for The Sun newspaper is called ‘The Sun Always Shines On TV’ and it’s performed by Norwegian pop-rock band A-ha.
Released in December of 1985, this was the third single to come from the groups debut album, Hunting High and Low. The song was a number 1 hit in the UK singles charts.
Despite A-ha’s previous release ‘Take On Me’ being generally far more successful around Europe, it only managed number 2 in Britain. As a result, ‘The Sun Always Shines On TV’ remains the Oslo based musicians first and only UK number 1.
Recently reformed, A-ha are a three-piece band consisting of lead singer Morten Harket, keyboard player Magne Furuholmen and guitarist Paul Waaktaar-Savoy.
Designed to celebrate the return of some of Britain’s favourite TV shows, including The X Factor and Through the Keyhole, this new commercial (which you can view above) promotes The Sun’s coverage of the latest telly news and gossip.
