The Durrells ITV Advert – TV Trailer

The Durrells ITV Trailer Music – Artist and song information for the trailer to Keeley Hawes’s new 2016 TV drama.

Song Title: Hey Pachuco.

Singer/Band: Royal Crown Revue.

Available For Download From: Amazon and iTunes.

The soundtrack to ITV’s ad for The Durrells is provided by the Los Angeles-based swing/jazz band Royal Crown Revue. The song is called ‘Hey Pachuco’ and is taken from the groups debut album Kings of Gangster Bop.

Despite sounding like a vintage piece of American jazz, this track wasn’t actually recorded until 1991. It therefore makes sense that RCR became key players in the 90’s swing revival movement.

Movie fans may also recognise Hey Pachuco from Jim Carrey’s 1994 action-comedy film The Mask.

Starring ‘Line of Duty’ and ‘Upstairs Downstairs’ actress Keeley Hawes as Louisa, The Durrells is a new six-part series from ITV, based on the Corfu trilogy of books by writer and conservationist Gerald Durrell. This series of autobiographical novels are made up of ‘My Family and Other Animals’, ‘Birds, Beasts and Relatives’ and ‘The Garden of the Gods’.

Set in 1935 on the Greek Island of Corfu, The Durrells follows the adventures of Gerald and his family as they settle into their new Mediterranean home.

The above trailer was added to ITV’s YouTube channel on the 2nd of March, 2016, with the shows start date still to be announced.
