So what is Sky Q and Fluid Viewing?

Described by the broadcaster as ‘An entirely new way to enjoy the TV you love’, Sky Q allows users to stream live, recorded and on-demand programming to televisions and tablets anywhere in their home using Q Play.

Q Sync will now allow you to copy recordings you’ve made, from your Sky box, to a tablet. This then gives you the ability to watch any of your chosen shows, wherever you go, without the need for an internet connection.

For those of you only interested in watching TV on a TV, you can still benefit from the option of recording up to four channels at once, while still watching another. Handy for busy prime-time slots when all the good stuff is on at the same time. Storage wise, Sky Q offers four times as much space as Sky+.

The Sky Q box comes 4K ready, with UHD services due to launch sometime in 2016.

The above ‘Fluid Viewing’ introduction video was uploaded to Sky’s official UK YouTube page on the 18th of November, 2015.
