Titled ‘Rise for the Rugby World Cup on ITV’, the ad shows young and adult fans falling asleep the night before a match and having Japanese cartoon and video game-style dreams. These home nation fans then wake up just in time to watch the action live on ITV.

Titled ‘Goku’, this Rugby World Cup 2019 ITV advert music shares its name with the protagonist of a Japanese animated series called Dragon Ball. The song is performed by US rapper, singer-songwriter, and actor Jaden Smith and was released for download last year.
The theme music to ITV’s Rugby World Cup coverage will be a new specially-recorded version of ‘World In Union’ sung by Emeli Sande, featuring Japanese vocalist and violinist Sarah Alainn. Coverage will be presented by Mark Pougatch and Jill Douglas, and will include both live matches and highlight shows in the evening on ITV and ITV4. The tournament starts on the 20th of September, with the final being played in Yokohama on the 2nd of November.
