Apple Pay, Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest – Singer and song info for the latest RBS and NatWest TV commercials.
The track featured in the new NatWest and RBS ads is called ‘Hard To Handle’ and it’s sung by the legendary American singer-songwriter, Otis Redding.
Following the soul musicians’ tragic death in a plane crash in 1967, Hard To Handle was released as a single the following year. The song went on to reach number 15 in the UK singles charts.
Otis Redding is famous for other such classic songs as ‘(Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay’, ‘I’ve Been Loving You Too Long’, ‘Try A Little Tenderness’, ‘A Change Is Gonna Come’ and ‘Knock on Wood’.
These new adverts from NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland demonstrate the new Apple Pay technology, now available to their iPhone owning, credit or debit card customers. The commercial shows a selection of smug-looking people paying for their supermarket shopping, new handbag and cafe bill, all without resorting to the archaic practices of handing over a card or cash. According to RBS, ‘shopping never felt so good’, with Apple Pay being easy, fast and secure to use.
The ads were uploaded to NatWest’s and the Royal Bank of Scotland’s respective YouTube pages on the 11th of September, 2015.
