Olympea Paco Rabanne Advert Music – Artist and song details for the women’s fragrance commercial starring Brazilian model Luma Grothe.
Another fragrance advert here that’s been around for a few months, but has now started airing more frequently on TV during the build-up to Christmas. This ad for Paco Rabanne’s Olympea uses the 2010 track ‘Power’, by American rapper Kanye West.
The song comes from the hip hop artist’s fifth studio album ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’, and also features vocals from Detroit-based soul singer Dwele.
The theme of this commercial is clearly inspired by the products name ‘OLYMPÉA’, mixing Greek mythology with the modern-day world. The female star of the ad is 21-year-old Brazilian model Luma Grothe, who plays a more contemporary Cleopatra.
Despite having been a famous Egyptian queen and marrying the Roman general Mark Antony, Cleopatra actually came from a Macedonian Greek family. So the advert isn’t quite as much of a historical and geographical mash-up as it may first appear.
The above 40-second version of the ‘New Film’ ad was uploaded to Paco Rabanne’s official YouTube channel on the 20th of July, 2015.
