Music info for the Swiss watchmakers latest Rio Olympic Games TV ad campaign.
OMEGA watches current Olympic-themed advert features a cover of The Script and will.i.am’s hit song ‘Hall of Fame’.
Having previously used the Irish bands original recording of the track on their Rory McIlroy-fronted campaign, OMEGA have this time chosen a slower stripped back version of the song.
Being sung by what sounds like a young boy, we’ve so far been unable to identify who the vocalist is performing on this unique-sounding cover. It’s a shame this new version doesn’t appear to have been released for download as a full song because I think it could be very successful.
However, you can still download another great piano-based cover of Hall of Fame, this time sung by Gavin Mikhail:
Featuring the American hip hop artist and producer will.i.am, Hall of Fame provided The Script with their first UK number one single and global chart success. The Script’s lead singer Danny O’Donoghue first got working with Will after the pair were chosen to be part of the coaching line-up on BBC One’s The Voice UK.
The above 30-second commercial stars Olympic athletes and OMEGA brand ambassadors: heptathlete Jessica Ennis-Hill, golfer Sergio Garcia, along with swimmers Michael Phelps and Chad Le Clos.
This video launched on the Official OMEGA YouTube channel on the 5th of July, 2016, ahead of this summers Rio Olympics. This advertising campaign celebrates 84 years of OMEGA being the Olympic Games official timekeepers.
