McDonald’s Christmas Advert – Forever Young – FULL Song by Singer Becky Hill

This year’s race for the title of best Christmas advert has seriously heated up now with the release of this ‘Inner Child – Forever Young’ YouTube and TV ad from McDonald’s.

Featuring the hashtag #ReindeerReady the 90-second video follows a mother and son during the build-up to Christmas.

Despite the lady’s best efforts, her young lad repeatedly suppresses his inner child when given the opportunity to do the things he enjoyed when he was younger.

That is however until the pair stop by a drive-through to pick up a McDonalds, including a packet of Reindeer Treats, something the boy can’t pretend doesn’t still make him happy.

Once home the boy joins his mother in a snowball fight before getting out his old Christmas decorations, finally letting his inner child out to enjoy the festive season.

This new ‘Reindeer Ready’ 2020 McDonald’s Christmas advert music is a cover of the song ‘Forever Young’ that’s been recorded for the commercial by English singer-songwriter Becky Hill.

Here you can listen to the full-length version of the song:

The now 26-year-old vocalist first came to the public’s attention when she appeared on the very first season of The Voice UK, back when it was broadcast on BBC One, reaching the competition’s semi-finals. Then in 2014, Becky achieved a number 1 hit on the UK chart with her single ‘Gecko (Overdrive)’.

Forever Young was originally released back in 1984 by the German synth-pop group Alphaville as the title track from their debut studio album.

It could be pure coincidence, but it’s hard to believe that the choice of music for this McDonald’s Christmas advert, and perhaps even its ‘Inner Child’ theme, wasn’t in some way inspired by last year’s Hafod Hardware’s ‘Be A Kid This Christmas’ social media ad, which featured a cover of ‘Forever Young’ performed the American singer Andrea von Kampen.
