What’s the name of the music in the latest Mazda MX5 advert and who’s it by?

The song featured in the 2015 all-new Mazda MX-5 ad is called ‘Gimme Some’ and it’s performed by Danish rock band, Vampire Blow. The track was first released for download in November, 2014.

Originating from Copenhagen and signed to the Magisk Mand record label, Vampire Blow are a three-piece garage band consisting of a lead guitarist/singer, bassist/singer and drummer. Other singles from the trio include ‘Let’s Go Out’, ‘Drink My Life and Pain Away’, ‘He’s Alright’, ‘I Wanna Go Home’ and ‘Sundown’.

This current TV and YouTube commercial from Mazda UK showcases the all-new 2015 edition of the companies popular sports car, the MX-5.

The video shows a man who realises he’s just run out of milk. Rather than taking a short trip to the local store, he instead uses this dairy deficiency as an excuse to take out the new car. Escaping the city and venturing out on the open roads, he eventually picks up a carton of milk from a remote gas station, before heading off on the long drive back.

The video sums up well what the Mazda MX-5 has always been about and why people buy them. It’s not a car you drive because you have to, but because you want to. Being all about driving pleasure, the idea is MX-5 owners will often look for an excuse to drive the roadster, regularly taking the scenic route home.

Since first being launched in this country 25 years ago, more than 100,000 Mazda MX-5’s have been sold in the UK alone. Just imagine how popular they’d be if we had some decent weather.
