Lynx/AXE Advert – Band and song details for the male grooming brands latest ‘Work On It – Find Your Magic’ TV and internet commercial.
This ad for Lynx’s new-look range of grooming products features a song called ‘Diamond Hoo Ha Man’ by Britpop band Supergrass. Though you only hear the instrumental guitar and drum sections of the tune in this commercial, the full version does also include vocals.
Taken from the groups sixth album ‘Diamond Hoo Ha’, the track was originally released as a vinyl-only single, but is now available for individual download.
Fronted by guitarist and lead singer Gaz Coombes, Supergrass are probably most famous for their 1995 song ‘Alright’ and 1999’s ‘Pumping on Your Stereo’.
Despite much chart success over the years, the English band never achieved a UK number 1 single. However, their debut LP ‘I Should Coco’ did manage to top the album chart in 1995.
The above ‘Find Your Magic’ advert was uploaded to Lynx’s YouTube page on the 27th of January, 2016. Apart from the end of the video, it’s an identical film to the recently released ad for AXE – Unilever’s American version of its Lynx brand. Millions of viewers in the US will also get to see the commercial played during Super Bowl 50, which takes place on the 7th of February.
