The black horse is back on its travels in this brand-new 2020 Lloyds Bank TV advert, which is titled ‘Forever Forwards’.
This time around we see the iconic horse galloping past fishermen, the Flying Scotsman steam train, groups of wild water swimmers and road cyclists, a farmer driving her combine harvester, and a child learning to ride their bike without stabilisers.
The ad finishes with the black horse and a group of runners sprinting along a beach, Baywatch style, as the voice-over says “By the side of a nation that never stands still”.
But before anyone begins looking for cases of social distancing laws being broken, not that we noticed any, our understanding is that this Lloyds commercial was filmed prior to the introduction of any coronavirus restrictions.
If it had been filmed during full lockdown, that horse would have been seriously taking the Mickey with their one daily exercise session.

The music playing in this Lloyds Bank advert is a new cover of the song ‘We’ve Only Just Begun’ that was originally released in 1970 by Californian vocal duo, The Carpenters.
The version we hear in this ‘Forever Forwards’ advert appears to either be a newly recorded cover or one we just haven’t come across before.
We’ll update this page as soon as we find out the name of the female singer and whether or not it’ll be available to download as a full-length single.
UPDATE: We’ve now discovered that this cover of We’ve Only Just Begun was recorded by the English singer-songwriter and musician Bat For Lashes and has indeed been released for download as a complete song, available from Amazon UK.
