HSBC UK’s latest set of TV adverts again star actor and television presenter Richard Ayoade, with him this time weathering the economic storm and skipping the financial tightrope, all with a little help from the banks Connected Money app.
The former IT Crowd star and current Channel 4 Travel Man encourages viewers not to dwell on the past, but instead stride into the future, be ready for the raining day, de-draft our overdrafts and sleep like logs under balanced sheets.
The soundtrack to this and a couple of shorter HSBC commercials is the theme tune from the 1981 film Chariots of Fire, which was created by the Greek composer Vangelis. I’m not entirely sure of the differences, if any, but the version used in this ad appears to be by Mark Ayres.
The 60-second ‘Connected Money’ video was uploaded to HSBC UK’s YouTube channel on 11 May 2018.
