EasyJet Advert – Band and song details for the new ‘How 20 Years Have Flown’ TV commercial. #TimeFlies
With the easyJet commercial celebrating 20 years since it was founded, you’d think the Disco 2000 soundtrack would make more sense if the company was 15-years-old. Though given that the song and the company are the same age, I’ll let them off.
Song Title: Disco 2000.
Band/Singer: Pulp/Jarvis Cocker.
Available To Download From: iTunes and Amazon.
The track featured in this latest TV ad from easyJet is called ‘Disco 2000’ and it’s by the English alternative rock band, Pulp. The song is sung by Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker.
Released in November of 1995, the Britpop anthem was the third tune taken from the groups ‘Different Class’ album, peaking at number 7 in the official UK singles chart. You can watch the songs official full length video at the bottom of this page.
The advert shows a man and woman meeting, then going through 20 years of life together, all while sat on an easyJet-seated fairground ride. The commercial ends with the couples daughter sitting down next to a male passenger, presumably signifying the start of the next 20 years. The video was uploaded to easyJet’s YouTube channel on the 18th of September, 2015.
The low-cost British airline was founded in 1995 by the charismatic Greek-born entrepreneur, Stelios Haji-Ioannou. Nowadays its orange logo and planes (insert cabin crew joke here) have become an integral part of the UK’s budget holiday industry.
In fact, in terms of the number of passengers flown each year, easy Jet is now Britain’s largest airline.
