Airline easyJet doesn’t bring out a new TV ad very often, but when they do, it’s usually pretty good.
This 2018 to 2020 ‘Imagine Where We Can Take You’ campaign shows a woman dreaming away while taking a flight.
As her plane flies amongst the clouds, a girl swims through the sky, they pass giant statues of tourists taking a picture, which then blends into a ski slope, people enjoying ice creams at a cloudy-table cafe and some other stuff I really don’t know how to describe.
EasyJet Advert Song Title: Dreams.
Singer: Cat Power.
The chilled-out piece of music playing in this easyJet advert is ‘Dreams’ by the American singer-songwriter and musician Cat Power.
The 46-year-old indie folk-rock artist, whose real name is Charlyn Marshall, recorded this track as a cover of ‘All I Have To Do Is Dream’. That single was originally released in 1958 by rock and roll duo The Everly Brothers.
Featuring the lyrics “I can make you mine, taste your lips of wine. Anytime, night or day. Only trouble is, gee whiz. I’m dreaming my life away” the original Everly Brothers version is considered one of the all-time great songs and has also been covered by such artists as Roy Orbison and R.E.M.
For those of you who like the sound of Cat Power’s version, we, unfortunately, haven’t been able to find a full-length single available for download as it was only released as a very specific ‘The Greatest’ album bonus track in 2006. But hey, who knows, if this advert proves to be particularly popular, it could lead to a full single being released for download.
The 60-second ‘Imagine’ commercial video was originally posted to the official easyJet YouTube channel on 13 September, 2018 and this popular ad is now being broadcast on TV again in 2019.
