Band and song details for the Romanian car manufacturers 2016 ‘Another One Drives a Duster’ TV ad.
In an advert most Queen fans won’t be too impressed by, Dacia’s latest campaign successfully ruins the rock legends 1980 hit ‘Another One Bites the Dust’. To point out the increasing popularity of Dacia cars, John Deacon’s lyrics have now being rewritten as ‘Another one drives a Duster’.
In case that makes no sense to you, I should perhaps point out that this model of Dacia is genuinely called Duster.
The video, which was uploaded to Dacia UK’s YouTube page on the 29th of January, 2016, shows various Duster 4×4’s being driven around while onlookers (one of whom looks remarkably like the actor Colin Firth) say ‘Another one drives a Duster’ and a couple throw in the line ‘Hey, why don’t we get one too?’ Genius!
The commercial ends with the voice-over guy pointing out that 3.5 Million people around the world now drive a Dacia. Continuing: The Dacia Duster from £9,495 to £15,495. You do the maths.
