BBC iPlayer Radio Ad Music: ‘For wherever you want to be’ August 2015 trailer song details.
What’s the song used in the current BBC iPlayer radio advert called and who’s it by?
The name of the song featured in the latest iPlayer Radio trailer is called ‘Cut The Kid’ and it’s performed by French DJ and record producer Madeon. The track can be downloaded from iTunes and Amazon.
Real name Hugo Pierre Leclercq, Madeon is a 21-year-old Nantes musician specialising in the genre of electro house. Cut The Kid was released in early 2014 and now also provides the soundtrack to the latest Volvic mineral water ‘Touch of Fruit’ commercial.
If the trailer looks familiar to you, your not imagining things. This BBC ad, which was uploaded to the broadcasters YouTube channel on Friday the 7th of August, 2015, is actually a rehash of their 2012 trailer.
This latest video basically sees Evan Davis replaced in the cafe by newsreader Mishal Husain, following his departure from Radio 4’s Today programme. Other than that one new bit, I guess this recycling of old footage at least saves a bit of the license payers money.
The music has also been changed, with the first trailer using the 2011 track ‘Tongue Tied’ by Grouplove. Here’s a look at the original BBC iPlayer Radio advert:
