This new 2019 TV ad campaign for Armani Code Absolu sees actors Ryan Reynolds and Élodie Yung team up in a short film directed by Reed Morano that’s said to bring to life “The essence of modern sensuality: authenticity, effortless style and the right dose of irony”.
The video shows Ryan and Élodie developing a photo in a darkroom, which turns out to be an image of themselves holding hands while standing on the edge of a building’s rooftop. The exact situation they find themselves in at the end of the commercial.
This Armani Code Absolu advert song is titled ‘I Can’t Hear You’ and was recorded by US alternative rock supergroup The Dead Weather in 2010 as part of their ‘Sea of Cowards’ album. The Dead Weather are a four-piece band consisting of members Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Jack White (The White Stripes), Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs) and Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age).
